Kareena Kapoor goes small screen to promote ‘Bodyguard’

Bollywood News: After Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, et al, it’s now Kareena Kapoor‘s turn to wow the small screen. No, Bebo is not anchoring a TV show just yet. she is merely putting in a brief appearance in the Sunday speial show of Pavitra Rishta, a serial on Zee TV to promote her Eid release, bollywood movie Bodyguard.

But why did she choose this particular serial?

“My mum is a HUUUGE fan of Pavitra Rishta”, reveals Kareena. “Though I was initially reluctant to promote Bodyguard on a TV show, it was she who egged me on. Mum doesn’t miss a single episode of the show. So this appearance, its’s all for you, Mamma!!”

Well, one only hopes the effort will pay off – and bodyguard will not suffer the same dismal fate like the previous Kareena and Salman Khan starrer bollywood movie, Main aur Mrs Khanna.

Bollywood Gossip: Rumours about Celina Jaitley's wedding have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. And in typical Celina style, the actor kept a low profile about her marriage plans. And as it turns out, the actor walked down the aisle with her long time beau, Dubai-based hotelier Peter Haag, on July 23 at a secret ceremony in a thousand-year-old monastery in Austria.

The light-eyed beauty has finally made an announcement to friends and fans on Twitter. She wrote: 'Beloved tweeple…With great pleasure I would like to announce my wedding with @peterhaag on the 23rd of last month at a thousand year old monastery in Austria. We seek your blessings and good wishes, and apologize for the delayed announcement due to a family tragedy." The actor also posted a wedding picture on the social networking site with: "Here is a picture of the most cherished moment of our lives. The following picture and my beloved husband, flanked by my dearest father in law to my left, and my brother in law to Peter's right." Celina and Peter have been together for almost two years now.

The couple got engaged last year during Durga Puja festival in the presence of their close family members. Hey Celina, we understand your need to keep your wedding affair quite private, but why spring such surprises? Anyway, hearty congratulations and here's wishing you a happy married life!

Bollywood Gossip: The 37- year- old yummy mummy will be seen shaking her booty in a special number in director Sajid Khan's upcoming Housefull 2. Karisma Kapoor recently signed her first full- fledged starring role in five years by way of Vikram Bhatt's forthcoming 3D horror flick, Dangerous Ishq. She was reportedly approached by Housefull 2 producer Sajid Nadiadwala for the item song.

Nadiadwala, who shares a strong professional rapport with Lolo, reportedly tapped her after Rani Mukerji turned down the offer. " Sajid Nadiadwala and Karisma have been friends ever since she worked in his nineties blockbusters such as Judwaa and Jeet. The buzz on Rani is that things didn't work out. Karisma, on the other hand, is a close friend of Nadiadwala, who feels she is looking more gorgeous than ever before," an industry source said

Karisma, incidentally, is the second married actress who has been approached for a Bollywood item number. Recently, Raveena Tandon returned after marriage and motherhood to do an item dance in the Amitabh Bachchan- starrer Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. However, Raveena's item dance was only used for promotional purposes.

Bollywood Movies: Seems like the remake of the 1990s Bollywood Blockbuster Movie ‘Agneepath’ starring Amitabh Bachchan is now ready. The remake of the movie is directed by Karan Johar‘s former assistant Karan Malhotra. Bollywood Actor Hrithik Roshan plays the role originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. Priyanka Chopra will be the female lead, while the character played by Mithun Chakraborty has been totally done away with in the remake. Sanjay Dutt takes on the mantle of the character Kancha Cheena played by Danny Denzongpa in the original 1990 film and Rishi Kapoor will play another negative character. It has been reported that Zarina Wahab will play Hrithik’s mother. The movie has been shot in parts of UK, Hong Kong, India and Dubai.
