But first time a film has been made based on woman gangster who too crime due to the injustice done by the society. Shabri speaks the struggle and revolt of a woman. It is a hard-hitting film very natural in presentation. Director Lalit Marathe's work gives us a reflection of the work of director Ram Gopal Varma. It is story of revenge that took bizarre turn. Many films were made on slum dwellers for a slum woman turns goon has never been filmed. Though well-executed, the film lacks grip in several points especially at the second hour. Shabri (Esha Koppikar) is a slum woman who works in a mill to run her family comprising of a drunkard father, a self-sacrificing mother and a naughty brother Bandya. She is angry at her circumstances and with her brother Bandya, who tries making fast money through unfair operations. She works hard to satisfy the needs of her family but a sudden mishap happens with her. Her brother is unjustly killed in police custody and Shabri sets to take revenge on the cop and kills the cop and goes missing. An underworld bookie Murad (Raj Arjun) helps her to go underworld and in turn infuriates his boss Rajdhar Bhau (Pradeep Rawat). When Rajdhar Bhau kills Murad, Shabri swears to seek revenge. The rest of the story follows as what happens to Sabri thereafter. 'Shabri' is an unconventional underworld film and quite inspiring. The setting is real and Esha Koppikar delivers her best. It is of the most striking performances she has delivered so far. Raj Arjun proves that he has the capability. Pradeep Rawat is convincing. Zakir Hussain is passable. In the nutshell, 'Shabri' fails to pull the audience interest. No doubt, it has some strong points but the film also has some loopholes. It cannot drag the audiences of varied taste.
