The country's first stereoscopic 3D film, directed by Vikram Bhatt is set for release on April 15.
A chiller, the film- 'Haunted 3D'- produced by DAR Motion Pictures has roped in top talents like Brent Robinson, Michael Reuben Flax, Resident evil-Afterlife, Saw 4, The Incredible Hulk to work on the 3D stereoscopic digital motion picture camera.
The film's special effects were created in Prasad Studios, Chennai. The horror story is set in a mansion in the eerie but picturesque hill station of Dalhousie, whose secrets seduces the protagonist to horrifying consequences.
''Haunted is my most challenging and fulfilling movie, from the scripting stage itself, we had to visualize the film in 3D stereoscopic-an all new style and technology'', director Vikram Bhatt told reporters here yesterday.
With the success of James Cameron's 'Avataar' (2009) in India, on which 3D cinematography and projection technology Vikram's Haunted is based, producers are confident of the audience's acceptance of the new type of cinema. ''Avataar ushered in the wave of 3D theatre conversions in India.
Haunted will be the harbringer of change and will bring in the next wave of theatre coversions to support 3D'', UFO Moviez, Joint MD, Kapil Agarwal said. UFO Moviez is the technical and 3D partner of the film.
