Singh Is King... Again?

Producer Vipul Shah sure needed a barrage of champagne bottles to pop in order to celebrate the box-office success that was Singh Is Kinng in 2008. Is he going to be able to create the magic once again?

Well, certain sources and the general grapevine say yes!

Word has it that Akshay Kumar and Vipul Shah are all set to start working on the sequel of Singh Is Kinng. The only difference this time around will be that instead of letting Anees Bazmi be at the helms of this movie as the director, Vipul Shah himself is slated to wear the director's hat!

And yes, Katrina's name is on the cards as per Vipul Shah's wishes.

Well, the first SIK didn't win too many critical accolades, but it managed to strike gold among cinegoers. Lets see what will be the anjaam of the sequel!

Deepika - Kareena together in film

The rivalry between the two glam dolls of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, isn't really a secret and the latest twist to the buzz is that both the actresses are likely to share screen space in Saif Ali Khan's home production, Agent Vinod.

The latest gossip reveals that Deepika has been approached by Dinesh Vijan for the second lead in the movie. After the huge success of Love Aaj Kal, Deepika is extremely in demand among the directors and producers. Maybe, it's the effect of this success that the producer decided to cast Deepika or maybe they considered the fact that her chemistry with Saif whipped magic at the box office.

A positive nod from Deepika is all that's keeping fans waiting for this explosive Bebo-Deepika combo. Kareena and Deepika never got along well, especially after the incident where Imtiaz Ali decided to cast Deepika over Kareena for Love Aaj Kal opposite her beau, Saif. Bebo was very much annoyed at the fact.

The only question that arises now is, "Will Deepika accept the offer and end the rivalry with Bebo?" That we're yet to see.

Lafangey Parindey - Music Review

Film: Lafangey Parindey
Director: Pradeep Sarkar
Music: R Ananth
Lyrics: Swanand Kirkire
Singers: Ronit Sarkar, Mohit Chauhan, Shail Hada, Anushka Manchanda, Shilpa Rao, Suraj Jagan, Joshilay

Lafangey Parindey starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone is all set to hit the cinema halls near you on 20th August 2010. With the Yash Raj banner and a popular star cast, the expectations from the film definitely run high. The music notes of the movie have been orchestrated by R Ananth. Whatever one may make of the hatke movie title, evidence of fresh music tastes from such ventures in Bollywood is hardly unheard of. A recent example, the 2009 blockbuster, Kaminey! To determine whether or not the movie fulfills its promise of delivering excellence, musically speaking, read on!

The album opens with its title track, Lafangey Parindey sung by newcomer Ronit Sarkar. There is a casual yet action-esque rock mood combined with Swanand's lyrics and Ronit's husky voice churn up an amazing medley which makes one want to listen to it again and again. Ronit Sarkar is just the best in his parts.

Mohit Chauhan, in a habit of excelling, makes no exception of the rule with the next track, Man Lafanga. It is a romantic number written by Swanand, soft and husky, but not without the 'lafangapan' of the character reflected via lyrics, as portrayed to be falling in love! R Anath's music slowly but surely grows on you.

There is a club mix of this song, but the original exceeds in delivering hands down.

Then comes Dhatad Tatad by Shail Hada and Anushka Manchanda. A great composition by Anath and a complete masala mix with some catchy lyrics and an apt background music which leaves a pretty good impression. 'Dhatad Tatad' is a full-on-pace track that doesn't have a single dull moment. The singers, Shail and Anushka, get right into character and attitude to suit the mood of the song!

Naina Paraindey by Shilpa Rao (of Khuda Jaane fame) comes next in the album. The song, like the vocals of its playback, is unusual but impressive. With truly beautiful and unique lyrics, one of the best from the album, the song is actually written with regards to a blind girl (played by Deepika Padukone) where the lyrics hold great meaning.

Rang Daalein is next in queue. Once again, lyrics that refuse to be ordinary and a soft rock band persisting in the background score. Suraj Jagan is good, but unfortunately not better than that. The overall composition does make up for his lacking nonetheless. Thematically, this track is all about attitude and ruling the world.

An instrumental Born to fly is soft and soothing, strong and motivational. It has the power to evoke thoughts without resorting to lyrics at all!

Overall, a promising album with some amazing soundtracks.

Our picks: Lafange Parindey, Man Lafanga, Nain Parindey, Born to fly.

I need time to recover: Dimpy Ganguly

Surfacing for the first time after the news of her being allegedly abused by her husband Rahul Mahajan, Dimpy Ganguly told reporters Friday that she needs time to recover and wants to be left alone.

Talking to reporters briefly, Ganguly said: 'Rahul and I just had a conversation and he sincerely regrets what happened.

'We are both very upset and I am extremely hurt. I need time to think about this and recover from whatever has happened. Till that time, I want to be left alone,' she added.

Ganguly reportedly had stayed with Poonam Mahajan, Rahul's sister, after alleged physical abuse by her husband. She has now returned to Rahul's residence.

Ganguly had left Rahul's place after the spat at around 4 a.m. Thursday.

This is the second time Rahul has been accused of domestic violence. Earlier, his first wife and childhood friend Shweta Singh had accused him of physically abusing her. They separated in 2008. In 2006, Rahul was arrested on charges of drug abuse.

In an interview to a Mumbai tabloid, Dimpy alleged that Rahul beat her up regularly and also pointed a gun to her head in one of their fights.

Friends, relatives and close associates said the couple along with family members were trying to resolve the issue.

'I have known Rahul to be a sober and thoughtful individual. There might have been some difference of opinion between the couple, but I am sure it can be resolved through a mature discussion,' said Prakash Mahajan, Rahul's uncle.

Rahul remained unavailable for his reaction despite repeated attempts.

Aamir, Shah Rukh dine in London

Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan seem to have patched up as the two were spotted dining together in London.

The duo were seen flashing hashi's (Japanese chopsticks) Friday at the Hakkasan Restaurant in London over Sushi and Sashimi. Shah Rukh's wife Gauri Khan and his filmmmaker friend Karan Johar were also present there.

'There were some jokes being cracked over which SRK and Aamir were laughing a lot. Gauri seemed to enjoy herself watching these guys cracking up,' said an onlooker.

Aamir is in London to promote his home production 'Peepli Live', while Shah Rukh is there shooting for his superhero movie 'Ra.One' with Kareena Kapoor.

Aamir even invited Shah Rukh, Gauri and Johar to a private screening of 'Peepli Live', which was attended only by the 'My Name Is Khan' director.

Shah Rukh was busy with the shooting so he couldn't make it to the screening, however, he joind Aamir for dinner after his pack up.

Johar is in the British captial for 20 days to spend time with his actor friend and also work on his own script.

A.R. Rahman to sacrifice Bollywood for international career?

A. R. RehmanMusic composer A.R. Rahman's international career which has taken off in a biggish way after 'Slumdog Millionaire' keeps encountering snags, thanks to long-pending assignments back home.
A. R. Rehman
According to sources, Rahman has to keep interrupting his international plans to be home for various pending assignments. The harried composer is now seriously thinking of putting all home-made assignments on hold to concentrate on building his career abroad, or else he feels he would lose the international advantage he obtained after 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

Says a friend of Rahman: 'The Indian assignments after 'Slumdog Millioniare' have been very time-consuming, especially 'Raavan' where Rahman not only had to do two versions of the music in Hindi and Tamil, but director Mani Ratnam also asked him to give three to four tunes for every lyric before one was selected. The music of 'Raavan' took more time than Rahman could afford, with the result that other Indian assignments primarily Abbas Tyrewala's untitled John Abraham-Pakhi starrer got left behind.'

At the moment Rahman is back again in Chennai for mixing the music of Abbas' film. But the background score of the film which releases in October is still be done.

No one is admitting it, but one of the primary reasons why Tyrewala's film got delayed is the music score which Rahman has been serving up piecemeal, for no fault of his, since the composer was committed to be out of the country for half the year for his world concerts.

Says the source: 'Rahman had to continuously keep breaking his international tours and other projects to be home for various reasons, like the music release of 'Raavan' and other things. He has begun to feel that his international career would never take off if he has to keep returning home.'

Abbas Tyrewala, in Chennai with Rahman for the mixing of his film's music, jumps to the composer's defence. 'Yes Rahman has been a little tied up and therefore unable to deliver quickly. But that's because he has to be constantly moving back and forth between India and the US. 'Raavan' took much longer than Rahman thought. I'm not worried about my music. It's almost done. Whatever time Rahman takes is finally worth the while.'

In the meanwhile, Rahman has not signed a single new assignment in Mumbai or Chennai in the last few months.

After completing Abbas Tyrewala's music, Rahman will now focus on consolidating his career abroad.

Ranbir & Deepika don't hold grudges!

Its not another break up that makes news - rather its after math! Deepika Padukone, having starred in the Saif home production and blockbuster Love Aaj Kal last year, seems to have learned her real life lessons the 'reel way'! For to remain friends with an ex, with whom a split eventuated on not the cordial terms, is sure some feat!

She maintains a bond as much, with the very handsome and even more popular Ranbir Kapoor.

For one, Deepika and Ranbir have never shown hesitance to a mention of their past relationship publicly. They have accepted the fact that they were much in love once upon a time; however from things to have not worked out, a split was called. Ever after, despite all the unbecoming media attention they have each earned themselves for the same, Deepika and Ranbir have remained candid. Not so long ago the duo had claimed no reluctance in working together for a movie again; now it appears, their mutual amiable terms are not strictly professional.

In a recent interview, Deepika was heard to proclaim Ranbir's potential to be a Bollywood superstar How did she feel about the break up?It is all for her in the past. The pretty tinsel town starlet is happy with the way her life is going, and glad that Ranbir is happy in his own. Yet again, she made a mention of her willingness to share screen with her ex beau once more.

Likewise had been Ranbir's wish to work again with Deeps, for the bright actress she happens to be!

Together or not, we say this young (ex) couple has set an example in not bringing bitterness to the professional front, rather facing is as mature people do ... not as much can be said about many other estranged B-town couples we know, eh?!

Papa Ki Pari: Sonam Kapoor

The name 'Sonam' is on everyone's lips right now, and why wouldn't that be? Everyone seems to be super psyched about her forthcoming venture Aisha, which is being produced under Anil Kapoor's production house, by none other than sister, Rhea Kapoor.

Anil Kapoor, as seen through a number of interviews, is very excited for his daughters and he's acting as a full-circuit support for his kids. By looking at Anil Kapoor and his touching energy for his family, many have commented that Anil Kapoor should do a movie with his blooming daughter, Sonam!

Sonam has already expressed her interest in this suggestion but has indicated that if she and her dad are to act together, then it must be a Father of the Bride-esque project, which will display the loving and protective relationship between father and daughter.

The two actors can creep into your heart individually, imagine how adorable they'd look together in a movie! We sure hope Sonam's guzaarish comes true soon!

Fashion Faceoff: Isha vs. Gul

Not the typical fashion blunder, no! But we dare say, repeat wears are not the fashionista approved trends for tinsel town - here's one spotted by our eagle eyed fashion police!

Soon after getting married, Isha was spotted in the blue Anita Dongre gown at the Hinduja wedding in February 2009.

Yash Chopra awarded honorary doctorate by British college

New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra has been awarded honorary doctorate by the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in Britain for his outstanding contribution to the field of cinema.

He was given Doctorate of Letters Friday at the college of the University of London, said a press statement.

'I am humbled by this honour and would like to thank SOAS for this recognition. My filmmaking has always been from the heart and I would like to pass on this same message to students all over the world,' Chopra said after receiving the honour.

The president of SOAS, Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, presented the degree to 77-year-old Chopra, while professor Rachel Dwyer, the public orator, read the citation.

Dwyer said: 'His films use a melodramatic form to show emotions at their deepest and rawest and the dialogues and the song lyrics of Yash Chopra's films are remembered and recited almost as mantras as they describe things that are hard to say, using language, imagery and music in a perfect balance.'

She also pointed out that the filmmaker 'continues to innovate with every film he makes and remains young at heart, always interested in how people think, feel and behave.'

Addressing the students, Dwyer said the graduates should be inspired by Chopra's success, learn his dedication and his ways of rising above failure.

Chopra is known for making hits like 'Daag', ''Deewar', 'Trishul', 'Silsila', 'Chandni' and 'Dil To Pagal Hai'

The filmmaker has earlier been conferred with an honorary doctorate by the Leeds Metropolitan University, Britain in 2007, apart from doctorates by the Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2008 and the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2004 in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema.

Sunny Deol's back problem is back!

There seems to be no end to Sunny Deol's troubles. He's back again in bed for a prolonged rest with his chronic back problem. And to compound his woes this time, stones were also detected in his kidney.

Director Samir Karnik, who's making a family film for and with the Deols entitled 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', is in a fix. Just when he needed to shoot a high-voltage action sequence with Sunny, the actor is laid up due to his chronic back problem thereby putting a question mark on the action sequence.

Now Karnik has no choice but to push back the action sequence indefinitely and proceed with the post-production of the film.

Informs Karnik: 'Everything except the action sequence is done. Now I'm going ahead with the post-production. I'll wait for Sunny to recover.'

That is easier said than done. Along with his back problem Sunny also has stones in his kidney and he has gone to the US to get them removed.

Says Karnik: 'But for his back problem there's no remedy except complete bedrest. So even after the stones are removed by injection in the US, Sunny is still bedridden until his back is completely healed.'

Even then, would Sunny be able to perform the stunts for Karnik's film?

Says Karnik: 'I'll wait. I've planned 'Ghayal' kind of stunts for Sunny with the 'Ghajini' action director Peter Heines. And if he is not up to it, I'll cancel the action sequence. But I'm told after bedrest Sunny's back will be as good as new.'

Sunny's back problem can easily be considered chronic as for many years he has been suffering from it.

On many occasions in his career recently Sunny has been laid off because of his back. This is his fourth enforced holiday due to his back. How long it lasts depends entirely on nature.

Incidentally Akshay Kumar, who is bonded in strange ways with Sunny Deol (they've a Raveena connection in the past, and a Dimple connection in the present), also has a chronic back problem which he recently solved with water-therapy treatment in Germany. Shah Rukh Khan too suffers from a bad back. Filmmaker Manmohan Desai apparently took his own life because of unbearable back pain.

Rani cover L'officiel..

Beautiful Rani Mukherjee graces the cover of L'officiel in a ravishing gold number courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana. We must say the diva looks absolutely stunning!

What 's your opinion people - Yay or Nay to the lovely lady?

A nostalgic Lara walks ramp for Rina Dhaka

Model-turned actress Lara Dutta says it was a nostalgic feeling when she walked the ramp for designer Rina Dhaka at the ongoing Pearls Infrastructure Delhi Couture Week.

'I had walked the ramp for Rina in 1998, it was then I had started modelling. So after that I managed to walk for her this time and it was very nostalgic indeed,' Lara told reporters here after the show Sunday.

'I am glad to be here for the first couture week and thanks a ton Delhi people for having me here in the capital,' she added.

This former Miss Universe, who is now more active in movies, says walking down the ramp is now a lot more tougher than compared to her modelling days. Contrary to her claim, dressed in a black crystallised chic blouse and train lehenga, the actress flaunted her perfect figure and walked down the ramp with oodles of confidence.

'Walking the ramp as a celebrity is very tough because that time you are the face of the designer so you have to be very confidant and poised and make sure every move you make is fine. You can't go wrong here so it is a bit tougher, but it is always fun,' said Lara.

'Also walking down the ramp in front of a live audience is also fun as you know that there won't be any re-takes,' she added.

Inspired by cobwebs, Dhaka's collection had a lot of slim-line silhouettes, interesting saris and corsets paired with lehengas.

A lot of lace, brocade, hand embroidery and various textures were used on the saris and dresses. Also, a lot of cut work and pearl work dominated the range that was in the hues of metallic black, neutral beige and bright reds.

Aamir graces 'Filmfare'

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan will be seen on Filmfare's front cover for the month of August! This month the magazine looks at some of the film fraternity's best talent and honors Aamir Khan by naming him as the most powerful man. The credit undoubtedly goes to his accredited performances in Taare Zameen Par (2007), Ghajini (2008) and 3 Idiots (2009).

For the cover, Aamir opted for a flattering classic look. The Khan looks debonair in a black shirt accompanied by a black jacket with blue jeans.

Yay or Nay for Aamir's Filmfare pose?

SRK - Gauri; to come together onscreen

Shahrukh Khan, <a href=It has been some time since King Khan's beghum Gauri Khan has made her presence felt behind the screen - acting co-producer and such. Facing the camera directly however, has been one among her dilemmas. That, shall all become past, because grapevine is abuzz with Gauri and SRK coming together onscreen for a TV commercial!

Cute much?! We think so!

The shoot to be scheduled in Mumbai, shall be telecast for endorsing a furnishing house. Lovely homes, brand-ized by a lovely couple, can only be a lovely idea!

On screen we have seen Gauri with hubby SRK before in Farah's Om Shanti Om for a guest appearance; on ramp she was seen for KJo's display not very many months ago! This will mark another such time that the couple shall face the camera together!

We only say, keep striving Gauri! Perhaps one day, we shall see the beloved real life jodi together in a movie!

Salman Asin - back together again?

Salman Khan and Asin Thottumkal are back together. Oh no, no more romantic allegations on the Macho Khan! This is about professional-coming-together. Previously, BollyCurry had reported plans of this duo, despite a not so successful London Dreams, to reappear onscreen as a couple, for Ready. Buzz claim they shall be seen a pair yet again, for Ravi Chopra's next.

Apparently, the director who was on a lookout for a perfect face, was suggested by Salman to opt for the Ghajini girl! Sallu's latest promotional interest perhaps?!

Ravi's previous choices, we hear, were Deepika Padukone and consequently, Priyanka Chopra, and with Asin's name getting recommended, the list of prospective leads only increases!

Piggy Chops with Salman in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, in her pre-stardom days, had given a hit. Deepika Padukone, in being cast opposite Salman could look forward to adding yet another Khan in her kitty of male co-actors! But Asin, we say, with Salman's backing, shall stand the strongest chance of all!

Rekha Sizzles @ 56 !!

56-year-old Bollywood diva Rekha is sizzling in the latest issue of Filmfare, courtesy of photographer Jagdish Mali.

Yoga and aerobics under the coaching of Ramma Bans transformed a gauche Rekha into a diva during the '80s. Along with remarks by critics with the use of words such as 'flawless' and 'sexy' to flatter the actress. It's no wonder that Rekha became a superstar with good looks to match! However since that time, rumors spread claiming that the actress had gone under the knife at various phases of her life.

Rekha, in her defense stated repeatedly that it is in fact yoga, reading, healthy eating, and good sleep that has kept her in top shape until now. But, to Rekha's dismay, some recent pictures seem to be saying otherwise.

The actress's latest clicks, by photographer Jagdish Mali, in Filmfare magazine have created a buzz in Bollywood. These newly released photographs seem to show flawless, young skin and a face of Rekha that could easily be misunderstood to be from her old 70's and 80's movies. It seems as if the 56-year-old is out to give some serious competition to actresses who are young enough to be her daughters!

So, what does it really take to keep looking like that? Following the shoot Mali remarked, "When we shoot digitally, a little bit of touch-up here and there is necessary. I've just made minor changes to the images' haven't tampered with her figure at all!" he claims. He also added, "We know she's been maintaining herself well. When you're young at heart, it reflects on your face."

A bit contradictory maybe, but surely we all know what the truth is.

Amisha's The Man!

She may not be appearing on the big screen anytime soon, but actress Amisha Patel promises to entertain many fans as she appears in the popular magazine, The Man.

The October issue will showcase the actress exactly two years after her last cover shoot, where she posed for French Bridal Wear on Verve Magazine. However, this time Amisha has pulled out all the stops to showcase a bolder self with a risqu cleavage revealing dress.

The magazine promises to talk about her new look and apparently has revealed a lot of the personal life of the actress. Amisha follows fellow co-stars Kareena Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Riya Sen and Sherlyn Chopra to pose for the magazine.

Lara's hard work!

Recently, BollyCurry informed you about Lara's inclusion in Farhan Akhtar's Don 2. Now, the latest buzz reveals, that the actress is working extremely hard to perfect her look for the film. Apparently, Lara is shooting for an ultra glamourous look in the hopes of giving tough competition to her co-star and Bollywood's desi girl Priyanka Chopra.

Lara and Priyanka started their career together with Andaaz, opposite Akshay Kumar. Although, the film failed to impress the audiences, Priyanka has managed to reach the heights of success whereas Lara is still working towards it.

Now that both the actress are sharing the same frame, Lara surely wants to leave an impression, while stealing the limelight.

For us, we will just have to wait and watch.

Tera Jaadu Chal Gaya?

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been a hot-off-the-tava topic for quite a while. Post their "low-profile" wedding, Mani Ratnam's Guru had fetched the couple ample accolades for their remarkable performances and things were quite smooth for the fetching couple.

Then, however, came Raavan. The movie did not get much praise from critics and nor did movie-goers bless it with a good box-office income. Many people have been contemplating the possibility that perhaps Abhi and Ash just aren't hot anymore? This has allegedly even been a cause of worry for director Rajiv Menon, who had been planning to star the couple in an upcoming caper called Dhun, as he has been delaying the production of this movie lately.

Now, no one is sure whether its Abhi-Ash who are the root cause of Dhun's work getting delayed, but it may be so. Should this happen, though? If one movie does not work with a star couple, then does that mean that the couple's chemistry isn't strong enough?

BC wishes Abhi-Ash all the best, and hopes their chemistry can create magic again like it has in the past.

All In Himesh's Hands!

News has it that the Kajraare team does not have enough funds to plan a full-fledged post production promotion program for the upcoming Reshammiya flick. There was talk earlier, of how funds had fallen short for the basic shooting schedules even; that completed however, an after problem has now been posed. However, since promotion is a pivotal part of the process of releasing a film, Himesh Reshammiya will not let lagging funds get in the way of completing this film's process.

Thus, it's been said that Himesh is to finance for Kajraare promotions out of his own accounts. All this, because Himesh wants this film to prosper from the start itself, which can't happen if people don't know enough about the film.

Although there is little anticipation on the audience's part for the movie, given the previous Himesh movies which bombed at BO, we sure wish the singer turn actor luck for much that he is putting at stake!

Khatta Meetha Preview!

Cape of Good Films Private Limited and Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision's 'Khatta Meetha' is principally a political satire on the municipal and construction dealings in India told through the life of a contractor, "Sachin Tichkule" played by Akshay Kumar.

A

Akshay famed for his hot blooded Punjabi Munda roles makes this smooth transition with this comic caper directed by Priyadarshan. The dynamic duo who are known for their knack of striking gold at the box office with blockbusters like Hera Pheri, 'Bhagam Bhag' and 'Bhoolbhulaiyaa' are all set to create magic once again with their latest movie Khatta Meetha.

The film also features debutante Trisha Krishnan, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Makrand Deshpande, Milan Gunaji, Asrani, Jaydeep, Atul Purchure, Aruna Irani, Urvashi Sharma, Paritosh, Geetha Vijayan and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

Trisha, who is making her Bollywood debut with this film, has acted in over 30 movies down South. Infact Priyadarshan had given Trisha her first break in a Tamil film called 'Lesa Lesa'.

The film unfolds, revealing the various facets and levels of bribing and crooked tricks required for one to survive the system. As Akshay continues to chase his dream, he comes to a crossroads at a point where he has to decide to be honest himself and ultimately expose those who have wronged even if it means his own brother and family.

The comman man's look that Akshay is donning in this laugh riot is something he has never sported before. Styled by Shabina Khan, the ensemble consists of pastel colored shirts with trousers, chappals, a money pouch, an umbrella and Aviators.

The Cinematography for the film is done by V. Manikandan. The music score is given by Pritam while the choreography is done by Pony Varma, Prasnna Sujith, Ganesh Acharya. The Art Director is Sabu Cyril and the co-director is Abhilash Nair.

Kunal Ganjawala, K K, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shehzad Roy,Daler Mehndi, Kalpana Patowary and Harshdeep Kaur have rendered their voice to the melodious soundtracks and the lyrics are penned by Irshad Kamil, Shehzad Roy and Nitin Raikwar.

'Sajde Kiye', the song is a lovely romantic track shot a song in the famous Ram Mandir in Phaltan, Satara. The beauty of the song is the pious location where the Mandir Ghanti would ring at precisely the same time as the Azaan from the Mosque.

The song 'Nana-chi Taang' combines the melody of rock with a tinge of our very own Maharashtrian tadka. Movie's most controversial track 'Bullshit' is aimed at corrupt politicians and pokes fun at them. It trails the existing state of affairs with respect to shoddy construction work, slow proceedings and traffic woes. And lastly the track 'Aila re Aila' which is a typical koli song full of masti and masala picturised on Akshay and Kainaat Arora.

The movie is shot in Mumbai while several portions of the movie at a palace in Phaltan, the ancestral home of Shivaji's first wife, Saibai.

The film is been presented by Hari Om Entertainment Company in association with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Limited and hits theatres on 23rd July, 2010.

Salman tweets his look for 'Dabangg'

There has been much talk surrounding Salman's up-coming action movie Dabangg, in which he portrays a corrupt Police Officer. The female lead of the movie, who our Sallu Bhai will be seen romancing, is Sonakshi Sinha.

Recently, Salman used his Blackberry Smartphone to update his Twitter account and his fans and followers got a sneak peek at his look for this movie! We, at BollyCurry, think that he looks particularly dashing with the mustache and the shades are a nice added touch.

Ajay Devgn as "Sultan Mirza"

It's nostalgia all around as Balaji teams up with Milan Luthria to bring us another taste of the golden era of Bollywood with their upcoming flick, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai.

Whilst todays movies are content with fluffy comedies and the odd social message, this gritty tale set in 1970s Mumbai follows a murkier path as it sees the changing roles of Sultan (Ajay Devgn) and his protege Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi) whose desire to rule the underworld of Mumbai sees him overthrowing his mentor.

But Sultan Mirza is more than just the messiah of the poor and a silent ruler of the streets, and it soon becomes a struggle for power against the backdrop of flashing lights, disco hits and all the glamour the 70's were known for.

Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai co-star in the much awaited movie rumoured to be based on the lives of celebrity gangsters Haji Mustan and Dawood Ibrahim

Bipasha On a Roll!

The beautiful and utterly fit Bipasha Basu's been having a very eventful month, we must say. Lamhaa released on Friday, and her performance has been much appreciated by critics and movie-goers alike. Bips is not okay with sitting and taking in the accolades however! News has it (thanks to Twitter, of course) that Bips has already moved on to her new project!

According to one of Bipasha's tweets, she's been in Kolkata these days to promote a new Bengali channel called "Mahua Bangla". To help with the promotions, she dressed up in an authentic Bengali outfit, and looked ravishing, as always!

Hope Bipasha has an amazingly prosperous year ahead!

Lamhaa banned in Middle East

The Bipasha Basu, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kapoor starrer Lamhaa has managed to stay consistently in the news because of the serious subject of the film . The latest buzz reveals that this might be the reason the film has been banned in the Middle East.

The film won't be screened in UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait. The reason behind this ban is still a mystery. Earlier, a similar thing happened in Kashmir, where the film was supposed to be premiered but the censor board banned the film as the film revolves around a sensitive issue in Kashmir.

The main lead, Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu, expressed their disappointment through a social networking site Twitter (R).

Bipasha tweeted:

"Ban on honest film? What happened to freedom of expression? Sadly, people of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and UAE won't be able to watch our film."

Sanjay's views weren't much different from Bips'. He was extremely upset about the matter.

"First, the film could not be premiered in Kashmir and now the Middle East has banned the film," Dutt expressed on Twitter.

Well, we just have to wait to find out the actual reason behind the ban. Till then good luck to Lamhaa.

Aamir Says No To Political Parties

<a href=Aamir Khan" align="right" vspace="5" hspace="5" />Remember when a political party had tried to buy the phrase 'Jai Ho' for their own usage purposes?

Well, something similar happened this year, when a political party had approached Aamir Khan, a co-producer of Peepli [LIVE], to try and obtain the song "Mahangai Dayan" a popular song from Peepli [LIVE].

Aamir Khan very abruptly said no to the request, as he did not want a song from his movie to be owned. He wants "Mahangai Dayan" to be everyone's song, a song that does not have any restrictions. More over, he thinks that the song promotes unity in the form of the plight of the common folk who all do not enjoy mahangai.

Kudos to the Peepli [LIVE] team for adamantly leaving the song free, and much luck to the team for the movie's slated release on August 13!

'Road, Movie' is a Winner!

Road, Movie, the eclectic movie with the adventurous Abhay Deol, the seasoned Satish Kaushik, and the interestingly promising Tanishttha Banerjee, didn't collect many bouquets at the box office. But director Dev Benegal will still be able to celebrate a victory with this movie! How?

The screenplay of Road, Movie is said to have been selected as a permanent entry into The Margaret Herrick Library at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This collection features different aspects of films (direction, screenplays, locations, music, etc.) from different nations, which a jury selectively chooses according to how impressive they appear. As is confirmed by Satish Kaushik, Road, Movie's screenplay had what it took to be a part of the ravishing collection!

Many congrats to the team of Road, Movie! We shall hope for many more of such promising ventures by director Dev Benegal.

Akshay Kumar scouting for serious roles

New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has been doing comedies of late, insists he hasn't given up on doing serious roles.

'I have not put a full stop on serious roles. I am still waiting for something that excites me. I did '8X10 Tasveer' no one came to see it. so I am looking for a role that attracts more people than '8X10 Tasveer',' Akshay told reporters here Friday.

He was here to promote his film 'Khatta Meetha', which is releasing Friday. Directed by Priyadarshan, the comedy will see Akshay playing a contractor and he was dressed like one for the press meet.

In last few years, his name has been associated with comedies only, but the actor started his career with serious film 'Saugandh' and later featured in action dramas such as 'Khiladi', 'Sangharsh', 'Ajnabee' and 'Aakhein'.

In most of the films his acting style was same, but the actor denies any monotony in his performance saying: 'Everybody have their own viewpoint, but I don't feel there is any monotony.

Amir to do Dilip Kumar

While the sequel making trend has certainly been on the rise, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is focused to set himself apart from the common. Nothing new in that, we say! The gossip grapevine is abuzz with Aamir's possible enactment of the yesteryear legend Dilip Kumar! Not a sequel, not even a remake, but the simple reemployment of the genius that was Dilip Kumar.

Sources claim that Mr. Perfectionist Khan has finally managed to obtain permission from the Bimal Roy family. Aamir was keen to use the song Dil Tadap Tadap Ke from the Dilip Kumar blockbuster Madhumati in his own upcoming production Dhobi Ghat and in order to buy the copyrights, he needed to convince Bimal Roy's family. Word has it, that the convincing has been successfully accomplished, and that Aamir shall indeed have the chance to use the romantic chartbuster.

While there can be little or no doubt to Aamir's dedication to his professional cause, this one required more than the usual. And now that a final word on copyrights has indeed been obtained, we sure open Aamir will prove to be worth it all!

Anushka bagged "Desi Boyz"

it seems like the long search has ended and the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi famed Anushka Sharma has managed to bag the role.

There were rumours floating that Chitranganda Singh, earlier seen in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, had been approached. This turned out to be just that - a rumour! Then we heard, that Lara Dutta was offered the role but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts. In the end, it seems that Anushka has given the final go-ahead.

Apparently, Akshay himself was the one to put in a good word about the actress to Rohit Dhawan, the debutant director. Anushka seems to have impressed Akshay with her performance in Patiala House.

The shooting of the film is slated to begin in a couple of months in the great British city of London. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone will also be seen in the movie.

Ajay's position in the industry?

In a recent interview we learn that Ajay Devgn, who is known to do differentiated films couldn't have been in a more content mood. Devgan's pleasantry Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge was one of the few early successes of the year. It was followed by his political drama Rajneeti which involved a varied star-cast, and turned out to be the third prime cash spinner in the account of Indian cinema. His next is Once Upon a Time in Mumbai which is already one of the most waited films of the summer! Before the end of 2010, Ajay would also be seen in a social action thriller Aakrosh, share some laughs in Golmaal 3 and lastly, dazzle in an animation flick Toonpur Ka Superhero.

The actor claims that he tries to diverge from the norm and do unique films and hope they get appreciated. This year is no different, with the audience seeing him in various new avatars. The diligent actor seems to be content with his position in the industry at the moment.

In the interim despite the fact that it is not a solo starrer, Rajneeti, has been a great career booster for all involved. With 90 Crores in collections in just India, the film has left behind the likes of Rab Ne Mila Di Jodi, Dhoom 2 and Om Shanti Om to take over the third slot after 3 Idiots and Ghajini. Producers like Prakash Jha who make level-headed cinema, work with authentic actors, don't try to sell a movie based purely on the locales and snazzy cinematography, but have story lines based on current issues and reality are the true driving force behind the Industry!

We, at BollyCurry, believe that it is a mammoth triumph in itself that such films are now being looked as mercantile entertainment and seeing such great appreciation!

Big B set to start rehearsals for KBC 4

New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he will start rehearsing for 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 4' from Friday.

'Tomorrow (Friday) I start rehearsals for KBC... just getting the hang of things to come, the innovations and the formats. There is still time for its inception, but better to do it now and get acclimatized, than make mistakes later on,' Big B posted on his blog.

Based on the British show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', KBC created history when it was first launched on Star Plus in 2000 with Amitabh as the host. He returned with the second season in 2005, after which superstar Shah Rukh Khan took over the baton in 2007.

Junior Bachchan's Dostana Qualms

From the day Dostana 2 was announced, the film has managed to stay consistently in the news! Speculations have ranged from Katrina Kaif's look in the movie to the question of the maintenance of the dostana duo Abhishek and John in the sequel as well.

Meanwhile, it is said that once Tarun Mansukhani - the director of Dostana - confirmed the news about this sequel, Abhi was uneasy about repeating his role as he couldn't figure out how the film could be as funny and entertaining as the original.

However, upon hearing Abhi's fears, Tarun assured him that he would be the first one to know about the script, and if AB Jr doesn't like it, then it'll be tossed!

Eventually, Tarun's assurance worked on Abhi as he seems to have fallen in love with the script. Now, both Abhi and Tarun wish that Dostana 2 will leave a better impression at the box office.
We don't know about you guys, but we at BollyCurry are surely waiting eagerly to see this magical duo make history once again!

Another Reason to Gloss Over Mr. Mukesh

Neil Nitin Mukesh has such power and charisma that he just has to say the name of a product in his low-pitched, husky voice, and that item will be destined to be much in demand.

So, it's no wonder that he is one of the most in-demand Bollywood celebs in the advertising world. Soon, we get to hear more than just Neil's silky voice, because he will be seen as the new brand ambassador of Mistair Suitings! Neil has been doing quite well for himself in the movie industry, what with his interesting upcoming film Lafange Parinde and past acclaimed performaces. Not only that, but he's been popping champagne in the ad world as well, as he struts on the telly for the likes of Morelato, Addiction, and Sparks.

Looks like Neil is what many a woman has been yearning for!

Deepika in Krrish sequel?

There's been intermittent buzz about a sequel to to Krrish for sometime now, a movie that was sequel to 2003 blockbuster film Koi Mil Gaya. Latest scoops of gossip claim that Deepika Padukone shall become the lady to follow the footsteps of Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra.
o

Not many people know that this Bangalore beauty was director Rakesh Roshan's first choice for Kites, which, for all its hype failed to impress at BO. Not a big blunder, she must think in retrospection, although her real reason to not have joined the venture was her discomfort with intimate scenes and scanty clothing!

Now however, Deeps has given green signal to become Hrithik Roshan's leading lady, in this speculated sequel to Krrish.

The only doubts remain with director Rakesh Roshan, who is in half minds about making this sequel at all!

Aisha: Music Review

An adaptation of Emma, Jane Austen's famous Victorian novel, the movie Aisha, namesake its prime character, is a Sonam Kapoor-Abhay Deol starer, and an Anil Kapoor home production. Having made to the gossip columns every now and then over the past few months, one of major buzz around this movie has allegedly linked the leading pair, Sonam and Abhay, romantically.

But all that set aside, with the music album of Aisha finally hitting the stores, we tell you without talking in riddles - this one you want to pocket without second thoughts!

Unconventional, the good way - for no less could be expected with Amit Trivedi at the helm of chord-ial and musical affairs - the album contains tracks which spring up to catch your attention, and continue to grow on you with repetitive listening. With an impressive modulation in singing styles, a blend of orthodox instruments with ingenious ones for background scores, and employing the style of chorus groups humming peppy beats in several songs - Aisha is a complete package. Entertaining, addictive, and lyrically well suited to the movie's storyline.

Suno Aisha, the title track, begins with an interesting bird clock like sound added to bongo beats, a chorus humming joins in and the impact of the musical score is a fabulous group effort once the saxophones and trumpets join the family of instruments employed. Javed Akhtar with the lyrics effectively sums up the character of Aisha in this song. Sung by Ash King (with occasional backing from Trivedi himself), the brilliance of the song lies in how the note of King's vocals creates a semblance that tempts one to imagine Abhay Deol singing the song for real! Something about the song is reminiscent of the popular 2008 chartbuster Kabhi Kabhi Aditi ( JTYJN ), perhaps the casual throw in the singing and the attractive outcome of oddly mixed and matched instruments for interludes between paragraphs. The atypical attributes of this song as a title track make it a strong recommendation - breezy, easy on nerves, an ideal way to kick start the album!

Gal Mitthi Mitthi we predict, is all set to become the new favorite on wedding dance floors! Complete with the shaadi band baja music and enhancing dhol beats this song is everything we call 'live-it-up-the-Punjabi-pop-way'! There is use of folksy instruments, customized with techno effects. Tochi Raina is good choice for the background singing. This one should make it to your latest party play lists right away!

There is a DJ club mix version of the song - while the original is certainly an edge better, the DJ mixing adds an greater pace to the song which is bound to appeal the dancing crowds more.

The third song of the album is a pleasing evening number, accordingly titled Sham. A captivating piece of acoustic strumming starts it off, and soon enough the duo of composer-singer Trivedi and Neuman Pinto cast a spell lending their vocals to the lilting composition. Easy, light, the kind which gets you tipsy-ish high from merely, wishfully swaying to it! Javed Akhtar pens lyrics befitting the atmosphere of the song - the kind which make you smile cute and curious! Its the perfect song to picture playing in the background on romantic evening date with a new found love! Relying on the overlapping acoustic strumming, and addictive chorus humming, the song weaves magic, for a magical time!

Behke Behke has its way of urging you to let go of all hesitation and shake a good leg or two! A gleeful mix of European beats - Spanish, even something of the famous Irish tapping - hints of Latin American dancing music, orchestrated into an overall local Goan style popular beach tune structure. The composition also hints distant retro traces - both in the Indian and the Western styles. Anushka in her singing incorporates the mood of the song, bringing out its true character wonderfully, while joined in for the male parts by Samrat Kaushal and Raman Mahadevan. Its the kind of song you want to play on repeat around a camp fire all night long! Lookout for this one in reality dance shows, award function performances, et al..

By the Way brings back to ones mind the days of Anushka Manchanda singing for the sensational girl band Viva! For this song which is full on its masti quotient, Anushka delivers the 'i-give-no-damn' lyrics with a bindaas attitude in all of her singing. The composition combines everything from a peppy chorus cooing, great drumming among other percussion instrumental beats, heavy electric guitar strumming and all such pop-rock-esque musical contributors. This song can do wonders curing sour moods with its plain intention to energize the listeners until they're foot tapping, hand clapping, and head banging! Strongly recommended for friend stay overs, disc nights, bathroom karaoke redemption, bad traffic days on the road ... and all such! An adrenaline rush is guaranteed, as is the success of this song in weeks to come, we say!

Last in the album is Lehrein, categorically a soft melancholic melody. While a constant note of the keyboard in the background sounds throughout the duration of the song, employing a violin for the interludes between singing has a lingering impact. The drumming is subtle and matches well, the down tone of Amit Trivedi's beautiful composition. Anusha Mani's gently raspy vocals lend the perfect emotion to the meaningful lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The song has the power to stir latent emotions and moods in the listener - the kind which make one sit back, and revisit forgotten memories!

There is a remix version of this track, which is half baked compared to the original - or just perhaps, such are not the tracks one should chose to remix/remake at all!

All in all, Aisha is great collection of songs for all times and occasions! Amit Trivedi (after the phenomenal success of Dev D) comes back with another signature product! In the musical world this young lad shall become a genre of his own in days to come. Javed saab is wonderful with his pen, as he is versatile ... and the choice of singers for each track is thoughtfully right.

Total No. of Tracks: 8 (6 Original, 2 Remix)
Music Label: Sony BMG
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
Music Director: Amit Trivedi

Bebo Kat snub each other !

Wars and rivalry, this is what Bollywood is all about nowadays; something that more often than not supersedes good filmography itself. Something or other is always happening between and among the Bollywood stars.

The latest buzz reveals that a fresh war is going on between Bebo 'Kareena Kapoor' and the Barbie Doll- Katrina Kaif. Yes, we are indeed talking about 2K's here.

These two ladies were shooting in the same location for their respective movies when the incident took place. It is said that the duo snubbed and ignored each other instead of being friendly.

The big picture is nothing new - another brewing rivalry, and another cold war! However, if someone ought to play referee to this a catfight between the lovely ladies - we vote for Ranbir Kapoor! For one may recall, that while Katrina Kaif has been close friends (allegedly more) with co star Ranbir, the actor also happens to be Kareena's first cousin - interesting that?! Maybe!

Ajay Devgn's Baby...

Ajay Devgn's Baby...

The actor has gotten his home a new...

... before the real one arrives!

The actor has gotten his home a new pet 'sher'! This 3 month old English Mastiff looks anything but a pup - striped & massive for his age. We are calling him Sher Khan. He doesn't bark, he roars!

Vivek and Abhi - true friends?

Who isn't aware of the efforts that Vivek Oberoi has put in to work out his relationship with the Bachchans? Soon after mending his relationship with the megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan at an award function, Vivek has finally won junior Bachcan's trust as well. It surely is a feat, knwoing his past with Abhi's now wife Aish.

Sources claim that Abhishek Bachchan can't stop praising Oberoi after catching a sneak peak of Vivek starer Rakatacharitra.

Making a mention of it on his blog, Junior Bachchan writes: "Shooting for dum maaro dum and @RGV zoomin just dropped in for lunch. Showed me a bit of his new film rakhtcharitra. Looking awesome!"

That sure is some spirit to let bygone be bygones! Now that Vivek is busy in his career and Aish in her marriage life, we truly hope that this friendship lasts forever.

We also say to dear Mr. Abhishek 'benevolent' Bachchan, paaji, tusi great ho!

Calling Akshay jackass was going little too far: Big B

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) When film critic Rajeev Masand called Bollywood star Akshay Kumar a 'jackass' on a social networking site, guess who stood up in arms against him? Megastar Amitabh Bachchan!

Following comments on Akshay's visit to ailing cartoonist R.K. Laxman at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai Sunday, Masand posted on his Twitter page: 'Need innovative ideas to promote films in competitive times. But Akshay Kumar grinning like a jackass at R.K. Laxman's hospital bed is a new low.'

Akshay's gesture was seen as a marketing gimmick for his upcoming film 'Khatta Meetha', in which he plays the role of a simple man who dreams big. Ever since his visit to the cartoonist, Akshay has been receiving a lot of criticism.

But calling him a 'jackass' was going a little too far, says Amitabh.

'Rajeev...your fraternity will never pull you up for calling Akshay a 'jackass'. Ever thought if the reverse were to be done...would your fraternity have spared Akshay if he were to address you as one? Never expected this language from you,' Bachchan posted.

In return, Masand typed out a 'humble reply' to Amitabh.

'Dear Sir, Let's consider - 'if my fraternity won't pull me up for that 'jackass' comment, could it possibly be because they see some sense in my comment? Or could it be because that's what fraternity does: Stands by each other? You should know, Sir.

'I don't remember your fraternity pulling you up for the attack on photographers by security outside your house during Abhishek's wedding. I don't remember your fraternity so much as expressing outrage when Abhishek 'allegedly' bashed up a photographer on a film set. But your concern sir, is the use of the term 'jackass'.'

Masand went on to explain his stand, and meanwhile Akshay thanked Big B for showing his support.

'Never have I felt such a strong support towards me in my career. The love you have for your colleagues and our fraternity is one to be admired and followed. I understand what ever we say or do sir will always be speculated and blown into outrageous proportions, but always know you have a greatness about you that even the best of people find hard to understand,' posted Akshay.

'My deepest gratitude to you for your humble support, if only we all possessed a bit of dignity quite like yours...,' he added.

Aishwarya still looks 21: Akshay (Movie Snippets)

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) Akshay Kumar seems to be going ga ga over his 'Action Replay' co-star Aishwarya Rai's looks and says the 36-year-old manages to look 21 despite the efforts of make-up artists to make her look 50.

'I am now sitting in my van being tortured by my make-up artists to look like an old haggard man in the stunning mountains of Manali. About to shoot the much awaited song with Ash (Aishwarya) who still looks 21 even when they try and make her look 50,' Akshay posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The actor says he hates make-up and he has to apply oodles of it for his role in the Vipul Shah film, a time travel comedy tale based in Mumbai of the 1950s. The actors require a retro look to be in tune with the theme of the film.

'For the record, I hate make-up, so Vipul Shah you owe me a Bentley...can't believe in three days 'Action Replay' will be wrapped,' added Akshay.

Big B shoots at studio he inaugurated years ago

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was nostalgic while shooting for TV commercials for the upcoming season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) at a studio because he had inaugurated it over 30 years ago.

'At the Film City...completing the promotional TVCs (television commercials) for 'KBC'. We shot at the studio floor one and a whole lot of memories came flashing by. Floor No. 1 that we were on, was inaugurated by me,' Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

He also recalled some of the films he shot for at the same location.

'...it was on this very same floor almost 30 years ago we did some of most honourable and distinguished films 'Barsaat Ki Raat', 'Kala Pathar', 'Sharabi'...the list is endless,' he added.

Amitabh says he was most touched to see the junior artists at the shoot.

'...what was most endearing was the 'junior artists' at the shoot. Some of the ladies in the crowd have been with me since the 70's, older but still junior artists. Remarkable longevity of these very noble artists, but sad in a way that they never matured on to something bigger. They sat there wondering if I would recognise them, talk to them - but I did and it was a joy as ever,' he posted.

Ajay, Kajol's film date

Guess who was spotted at a suburban theatre in Mumbai catching the latest Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer? None other than Ajay Devgn and wife Kajol.

Ajay, being the doting husband that he is, took a pregnant Kajol to watch the action comedy 'Knight and Day'. 'Kajol is a huge Tom Cruise fan and Ajay devotedly took wifey dearest to catch the flick,' said a source.

Sonu Niigaam changes look for TV show

Mumbai, July 12 (IANS) Of late, Sonu Niigaam has been in the news more for his looks than his songs and yet again the singer is hogging the limelight for his makevoer for an upcoming TV show.

Sonu, along with Ali Khan" target="_blank">Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, will judge children's music show 'Chote Ustaad' on Star Plus and he will sport a new hairdo, a revamped wardrobe and a well-toned body.

The show will showcase the singing prowess of children from both India and Pakistan.

Arshad Warsi & Maria ka Nachh!!

Arshad Warsi has found himself the perfect platform to showcase his dancing skills, and win back his estranged wife! Yes we talk of Zara Nach Ke Dikha, and yes, we also talk of Maria Goretti.

In the grand finale episode of ZND- season II, telecast on July 10th, the couple was seen in a scintillating dance act together. When interviewed during their practice sessions together, both Arshad and Maria seemed to have shown much enthusiasm over sharing a stage after quite a gap - both in time and bonding. With an inflow of all the fun during the otherwise hectic rehearsal schedules, the distanced couple has had a chance to spend much needed quality time together; while the stringent requirements of their dance act has required for them to overcome cold vibes and beat the audience in a stunning show!

The idea for this couple performance came from Warsi, who from what we hear is willing to set aside old differences and bury the proverbial hatchet.

In Warsi's own words: 'Yes, Maria and I are rehearsing for the grand finale of 'Zara Nachke Dikha'. It's a very tough job. Ever since I started acting and Maria had our babies, we have not danced on a public platform. It's been very long and hence this new thing is very tough on the body.' ((c) Reuters)

The differences in their matrimony had arisen on account of Andhrite Bollywood actress Dia Mirza's priority and place in Arshad's life. With Dia herself in a steady relationship from the past ten months, reasons for mutual misunderstandings have lost their ground.

Salman's suggestions like words written in gold: Arbaaz Khan

Mumbai, July 12 (IANS) A lot of Salman Khan's inputs were incorporated into his forthcoming home production 'Dabangg' even after the film was completed. Producer Arbaaz Khan says his superstar brother's inputs were valuable.

'Salman is a very experienced superstar. This happens to be his brother's production, which makes it a 'ghar ki baat'. He is the star of the film. I considered every suggestion from Salman to be like words written in gold and we incorporated them accordingly,' said Arbaaz.

'I don't think Salman has contributed more from behind-the-camera to any of his films. Earlier in some of his films he tried to make suggestions which were unfortunately not taken well. In 'Dabangg', we welcomed Salman's inputs warmly. He has added considerably to the film's overall mood and feeling, specially in the action scenes,' added Arbaaz.

Five lengthy action sequences including a climactic eruption lasting 20 minutes were devised specially by Salman in collaboration with action director S. Vijayan who did the stunts for Salman 'Wanted'. Salman's brief to Vijayan was simple - 'Make the action sequences bigger and better than 'Wanted'.'

'Yes, 'Wanted' was his big action release in 2009. We want 'Dabangg' to be his bigger action flick in 2010. I can't deny we devised the stunts accordingly,' said Arbaaz.

'There was this prevalent belief about 'Dabangg' that it was a gritty realistic offbeat kind of film. We didn't want that kind of branding for 'Dabangg. We wanted this to be a full-on action film, bigger than 'Wanted'. In fact, bigger in terms of action than anything Salman has done before.'

The five action sequences, the film's highlight were shot over a period of 60 days. And though Arbaaz isn't willing to reveal it, the climactic fight alone is 20 minutes long.

'Let's just say we shot the action scenes for 60 days which is the time spent shooting an average full-length feature film. These action films are done with special effects the way Jackie Chan's stunts are shot.'

Apparently, Salman is now all set to direct his own film.
