“Scacchistica Milanese”, historical chess club founded in 1881 and organizer of the prestigious Crespi International Tournaments, hosts the 31st International Chess Festival Conca Della Presolana on 20-28th August in Bratto, Italy.



The tournament is managed under the patronage of the Italian Chess Federation, with ScacchiRandagi as technical partner. The playing venue is Centro Sportivo Comunale, località Rucola 10, Castione della Presolana (BG).



The festival consists of 5 separate tournaments:



Master – for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating equal to or more than 2000 (9 rounds, 76 players)

Open A – for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating between 1750 and 2050, both included (8 rounds, 57 players)

Open B – for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating less than 1800 (8 rounds, 54 players)

Open C – for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating less than 1500 (6 rounds, 16 players)

Open U16 – for all players born after 31th December 1995 (6 rounds, 14 players)



The total prize fund is 12000 EUR, while 1500 EUR is set for the winner of the Master Group.

The 23rd International Chess Festival Porto San Giorgio is taking place from 21st to 28th August in Palasavelli, Italy.

The organizers are managing four tournament: Open A with 179 participants, Open B (U1800) with 69 players, Open C (U1500) with 26 players and U16 round-robin event with 10 players.

Open A provides 14 regular and 13 rating prizes, with first place being 1200 EUR worth.

Top seeded are GM Oleg Korneev and GM Tamas Banusz, both returning to Italy after participating in the successful Forni di Sopra Open. Hungarian talent Peter Prohaszka, Ukrainian legend Oleg Romanishin and 2010 Livigno Open winner Igor Naumkin are also in the field.
