Katrina as 'Chikni chameli' in 'Agneepath'

After becoming a rage with item number "Sheila ki jawaani", Katrina Kaif is set to gyrate to "Chikni chameli" in Karan Johar's remake of his father's 1990 critically acclaimed "Agneepath".

"Katrina Kaif is doing a full on item song in AGNEEPATH....its a total swinging number called CHIKNI CHAMELI....we shoot it in a week," Karan posted on his Twitter page Tuesday.

The British-born actress danced to "Sheila ki jawaani" in Farah Khan's "Tees Maar Khan". But she was also the lead actress of the film. In "Agneepath", Katrina will just be seen in the song "Chikni chameli".

The original Amitabh Bachchan-starrer "Agneepath" featured Archana Puran Singh in item number "Alibaba".

The new "Agneepath" is being directed by debutant Karan Malhotra. Releasing Jan 26 next year, it will see Sanjay Dutt in the villain's role.

Security tightened, mobiles banned at Aishwarya's hospital

Source: Mid Day
*A suite on the 5th floor of the state-of-the-art Seven Hills hospital booked.
*The suite is one of the most expensive suites on the level, and houses a spa too.
*Security to be increased - Staff to work in 12 hour shifts instead of the usual 6 hour ones.
*Mobile phones to be banned in the hospital after Ash checks-in.

The entire country is waiting with bated breath for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's baby, and the staff at Seven Hills Hospital, where the Bachchan bahu is supposed to give birth is not far behind.
But for those who thought the doctors at the Marol hospital were on edge, they are wrong. In fact, it is the security and cleaning personnel, who are burning the midnight oil to ensure that the medical facility is ready and safe for her delivery.
The actress is ready to give birth anytime and while bets are on about the exact date of her delivery, sources say that the actress will have a planned delivery on November 11. In an attempt to maintain security till the Bachchan family leaves, the administration has ordered the security staff to work a 12-hour shift instead of the usual six-hour shift.
Also, a suite on the fifth floor of the hospital has been completely refurnished for the Bachchan bahu.
According to sources, the suite is one of the most expensive suites on the level, which houses a spa too.
And if all this was not enough to maintain privacy, sources told MiD DAY that once Aishwarya is admitted to the hospital, staff members will not be allowed to carry mobiles into her room. "The authorities are afraid that a staffer will click a picture of the family that would hurt their reputation. Hence, they have imposed a ban on phones," said a source.
Sources further explained that the reason why Aishwarya chose the Marol facility was because her sister-in-law Srima, reportedly gave birth to her son at the same facility. "The hospital is not crowded allowing the star family to maintain a certain level of privacy," said a hospital doctor.

Seven Hills Hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in Asia

Kids can't be carbon copy of parents: Esha Deol

Being a star child has its own pros and cons, says Esha Deol, the elder daughter of yesteryear stars Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

"I don't take pressure on myself, people put pressure on me and it's not just. It could be Abhishek (Bachchan) or any other star kid. Right from our first film we are compared to our parents, who have done 200 films. Kids can't be a carbon copy of their father or mother," Esha told IANS.

But the actress, who was seen in "Tell Me O Khuda", did point out the finer points of being a star child.

"There is pressure, expectation, comparison but there is also a very nice thing -- being a star kid, we are always very protected and no one can mess around," she added.

Some RA.One reviews were silly: SRK

Shah Rukh Khan’s over-ambitious superhero project RA.One received quite a few negative reviews in India. “I was reading some reviews and they were silly. They are looking into some other aspect of filmmaking.”
Internationally, he claims that the Anubhav Sinha directorial got a great response. “LA Times has carried a fantastic movie review,” he insists, before adding, “We presented the film to a lot of people from Fox (Fox Studios, US) and we spoke to the foreign press on the technical aspect of RA.One. It’s important that we promote this ideology and explain to the world that we can do it.”

But the real challenge he claims to face is “showing the world that India too can make high-tech films.”
And to facilitate the same, he has set up a technically advanced studio in the city, which he used for the postproduction of RA.One. “The good news is that the studio is two or three years ahead of any other. This is the first step in that direction,” says the actor-producer, adding, “This is the time to bring this genre to India. And I have started it. Instead of cribbing, if you want to modernise and make different movies, you have to use this technology.”
Till Friday, RA.One had collected over Rs 60 cr at the box office in India, the film’s spokesperson claims. “I feel relieved to see it open well. I’ve been travelling, so I wasn’t able to follow the figures much. All my partners now feel that they’ll be able to recover their money.”

Minissha Lamba harrased at Dubai Airport by officials !! Racial Discrimination in the Gulf !!

MIDD DAY REPORTS :

Incensed officer at the Dubai International Airport confiscated her passport and threatened to deport her last week

After being detained at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport for carrying jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh earlier this year, Minissha Lamba could be forgiven for thinking that her worst experience at an airport was behind her, but last Wednesday, all of it came back to haunt her.

When Lamba arrived at the Dubai International Airport last week, her passport was confiscated, an official rudely asked her to "shut up and sit (down)", and she was threatened with deportment. According to Lamba, the problem arose when an immigration officer asked the actor for her lodging details.

"Since I didn't remember my hotel-booking reference details, I asked an individual waiting for me outside the airport for the details. When I tried showing the details on my phone, the officer blew his top off and started to yell."

Lamba reportedly asked the officer to calm down, but the incensed officer asked her to shut up or get deported. When Lamba argued, the officer snatched away her passport and pointing to a chair nearby rudely asked her to "Go, sit there". A senior official tried to help the actress, but the officer reportedly refused to comply.

Lamba says, "He kept gesticulating and threatening me." Eventually, the senior official whisked her to his office, where her passport was returned. "When I return to Mumbai I will take this matter up with the authorities," says Lamba, adding in jest, "This has not been a good year for me at airports. Maybe I should travel by trains, until an astrologer says otherwise."

ABSOLUTE DISCRIMINATION. !!

I hope discrimination against Asians in the Gulf gets more coverage. Thank god in a way that this happened to a celebrity at least it shows how we Asian are treated in the Gulf.

This is the treatment to Indian Celebrity, if you are regular traveller you will realise how the other common Indians are treated. Dubai guys thinks every Indian is a labourer. Its extremely serious matter for Indian Government to look upon.
I vouch and challenge if they treat similarly to any US or UK citizen??

I have seen this happen personally many times as I live in the Gulf !! Unfortunetly the Gulf has no human rights body , so its not like Asians can complain anywhere. The discrimination in the Gulf is horrendous, I see it everyday. At least in the west you can fight against it but here no way.

Actors like Saira Banu, Asha Parekh and Dimple Kapadia, as well as designers like Neeta Lulla and Shaina NC made a beeline at the Bachchan household Jalsa here Tuesday for the grand baby shower of Aishwarya Rai.

The Bandra house was decorated with flowers, and was packed with people in the afternoon.

"I have never seen so many celebrity women together. All the women went up to Aishwarya and blessed her. Jayaji received each guest personally and was very warm. Even her daughter, Shweta, gave personal attention to everyone. There were a lot of songs and celebration," said Khan.

The veteran choreographer wasn't just praises for Aishwarya alone, but also for Abhishek, who wore a white sherwani style kurta.

Bollywood's new casting couch scandal

People who read today's Mumbai Mirror may know what I am talking about. For people unaware, Subash Ghai, Anup Jalota and Anees Bazmi are in a new casting couch scandal.
Jerusalem-born, New York-raised Rina Golan in her book "Dear Mister Bollywood: How I fell in Love with India Bollywood and Shah Rukh Khan", has named industry veterans Subhash Ghai, Anup Jalota, Anees Bazmee and even Dr Ali Irani in her 119-page biography, where she claims they have all asked her for sexual favours in passages that are not fit to print in this publication for their explicit content.

You can read the entire article in the link above. Here are some excerpts.
Golan about Subhash Ghai:
“I want you to trust me and surrender to me completely. I will take you around with me everywhere and you will see how your life will change,” he said.
Subhash took me to the bedroom …. I decided to change my normal approach and abandon my principles. But there was no way I could fool myself. If I had made it this far without giving in to some powerful … guy offering to help me then why should I give up now?
Golan about Anees Bazmee:
“I’m going to come over and we are just going to eat, nothing else?” “No, we will also have fun,” he said. In an instant, all my respect for him had turned into disgust. Anees was no longer a cool director. He was just another powerful guy wanting to take advantage of me just because he supposedly was in a higher position.
“I have no problem coming for dinner and hanging out with you, but I will not do anything else,” I said. “I don’t believe in doing what you are offering. I have a God that is watching me.”

Aishwarya's due date: Bookies bet on 11.11.11

Bookies were in an overdrive betting more than a hundred crores on the sex of Aishwarya's baby. Now it is the turn of her due date.
Content credit: DNA India
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is now in her third trimester of pregnancy and if rumour mills are to be believed then she is due to deliver sometime in the second week of November.
Buzz is that as her due date nears, bookies are gearing up to receive bets on the exact date she will deliver on.

One Mumbai-based bookie 'handler', on the condition of anonymity says people are putting their money on 11 th November (11-11-2011).
"It is a unique date which has people excited and has raised the bar for the bets," says the handler. Another agent tells us that though 11-11-11 is a favourite with those placing bets, a close second is Children's Day i.e. 14-11-11. "The stakes will change as November approaches as one will get a clearer idea of when the actor is actually due," says the agent who operates from the North. The agents say that the booking rates are changing daily, depending on newspaper reports that they read and pictures they see of Ash.
"The best part is that the mother herself will have no control over the exact due date. So it's all guess work and that is what has raised the stakes here," says the Mumbai-based handler who is hoping that the actor delivers on one of these unique dates.
"It's not about money, but I truly wish that the Bachchans have the privilege of bringing a newborn in this world on an unique day. It only befits an unique family, doesn't it?' he asks.

I do have an accent : Priyanka Chopra

In one of those extremely candid interviews with Zoom's Omar Quereshi, Priyanka Chopra talks about work, life and "friends".
She talked about Kareena where she said that Kareena and her are co-ordial whenever they meet. They giggle like girls. But both of them are busy with their careers at this point. She went on to clear that she does have an accent:)
She also talked about Shahid and how she is not into PDAs.
The highlight was definetely where she talked about her linkups with Shahrukh Khan.

Yes, I have cheated in a relationship - Ranbir Kapoor

Well, this is what the cover of Stardust featuring Ranbir Kapoor on the cover for the month of October 2011 says.

We will have to wait to see what Ranbir really says in the interview. Meanwhile this will surely get some tongues wagging:)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some excerps from the interview:

He denied dating Angela Johnson, Nargis Fakhri and Prerna Goel. (He was linked to the three women during the course of the last couple of months)

The next time someone gifts me condoms, I will say thank you for making me aware of safe sex.

I hope my generation goes a notch above. or else we will have the Khans ruling for another 20 years. I want my films to make 100 crores. I want my openings to be as big as the Khans.

If Sonam says I am not sexy. She really means it. She is not saying for the effect. If someone feels I am not sexy, my parents should feel sad, not me.
