Jiah Khan takes up the cause of tiger conservation

Actress Jiah Khan was found chilling by the pool after having a rocking birthday party, the previous night at Juhu.

“Oh! It was a lovely party! My mom hosted it and it rocked. We really had a nice time,” says Jiah, as she takes a sip from her drink.

But ask her why were her Bollywood pals missing from the party and Khan insists that it’s not such a big deal.

“It (the party) was only for family members and a few other very close friends. We didn’t make it a filmy party. In any case, I don’t get a lot of time to spend with my family. And now that I am here in Mumbai, I thought that I would try to give them as much quality time as possible,” says the actress.

Tell Khan that we have been hearing about her endorsing a big cause and the actor reveals that she is going to shoot for an awareness campaign for the remaining few tigers in India.

“There are not too many tigers left in India and when they approached me to be a part of the campaign, I immediately agreed. I’ve always wanted (she is an animal lover to the core) to be a part of a campaign like this and I strongly feel for this. Poaching and destruction of forest land has really pushed this royal beast to the brink of destruction and if we don’t act now, it will be too late,” says Khan.

The actress reveals that going ahead of the usual campaigns of urging people to save the tigers, she has done something different. “I have shot a docu-drama that talks about about saving the tigers. I think that it will have a far more impact on the audience,” she adds.

Before winding off, we can’t help but ask her if she has any intention of making Los Angeles her professional base since she is now doing a Hollywood project and Jiah says that Mumbai will always come first for her.

“I am doing a Hollywood project but Mumbai is always going to remain my base. Bollywood still remains my first priority and I don’t have any intention to change my professional base, at least for now. In fact, now that I am in Mumbai, I am reading a lot of scripts and you can expect a few announcements very soon,” says Jiah excitedly.

She adds, “I have grown up abroad, so you will find me travelling a lot. But at the end of the day, I will always come back here, because it is my home,” she says, as she trails off.
