It's confirmed!
Kareena Kapoor will star opposite Salman Khan in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's next project, a remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard. Their jodi as husband and wife did not fair too well earlier with Mr and Mrs. Khanna and even before that with Kyunki. However, the duo have yet another chance to prove themselves as an onscreen couple to live up to the expectations of their ardent fans.
Siddique, maker of the original movie, is working on not just this mentioned Hindi version, but also on a Tamil one. Eid time in December has been proposed for the bolly release. While Arbaaz Khan has pocketed Dabangg as a hit debut production, it is sister Alvira this time, in charge of the production department, along with hubby Atul. Director Siddique meanwhile, a fresher to Hindi cinema, has been diligently gathering as much filming gyaan from the producer couple as they are willing to disclose. Due emphasis has been given to add typical 'bolly tadka' to the Hindi version.
To put records in order, one must admit that Kareena did not receive this film first hand. Primary choice for this project was Katrina Kaif. With dates interfering, Kat had to turn down the offer, unfortunately. To avoid altering the Eid release plans, a quick replacement was suggested and implemented with Kareena stepping in.
Sallu and Bebo have still yet to make it a hit as a pair but Salman riding high on the recent success of Dabangg, his fans have all the reason to invest hopes in his upcoming venture. Sources have also been heard claiming that Bodyguard is being polished to make it an out-and-out Salman movie.
